European artistic woodturning seminar Saline Royale d' Arc et Senans - 25 610 FRANCE Open event and congress
July 14-16, 2006
From XVIIIth century ornamental turning to 21th century contemporary turning
This event at the Saline Royale d'Arc et Senans is based on AFTAB's traveling exhibition
« Du Cœur à l'Ecorce » (from Heart to Bark), as well as the theme of the site for 2006, celebrating the bicentenary of Claude Nicolas Ledoux, architect of the Century of Lights and
visionary Master of the Saline Royale. There are two parts to the Arc et Senans event, one for the general public, the second being a seminar for registered participants.
The traveling exhibition « Du Cœur à l'Ecorce » is a selection of pieces by French and other
invited European artists, having worked on the theme « Architecture and Ornements » , inspiration subject for Enlightenment researchers, and contemporary artistic woordturners.
The event in Arc et Senans will be the highlight of 2006 for this exhibition. The juried exhibition will continue touring until end of 2007, and will be seen in many other art
places: Le Parvis des Métiers in Bourges, Galicia woodturners symposium in Spain, the sacred music festival in Dijon Burgundy, etc… The exhibition will be on show from July 12th to August 12th in Arc et Senans.
