Aims :

AFTAB's aim is the promotion of artistic woodturning. This art - until now threatened with extinction - is now, little by little, taking on again an air of nobility thanks to a group of turners who make others aware of their creative expression and show or exhibit works rich in know-how and beauty.

Thanks to these innovative turners, woodturning reaches the level of glassmakers'art or of contemporary ceramists. The artistic level reached up now makes the artisans' traditional techniques disappear behind creativity.

A new form of art emerges, with its own estheticism. These artists reveal to us a new perception of the world: we invite you to share the intimate feeling aroused by the meeting between man and wood.

AFTAB has for ambition to be a link between professionals, artists, craftsmen, amateurs, galleries, exhibition and demonstration fairs, markets, museums, administrations, schools and all the different fields of the "métiers d'art".

Well known in the world by other associations and similar organisms, AFTAB is now sure that the development of modern woodturning in France is linked to a broad international movement.

	Assistance in the valorization of the cultural aspects in woodturning
	Promotion, creation and training in artistic woodturning
	Assistance for woodturners in the recognition of their craft
	Assistance in the distribution of their products

Means :

Holding assemblies, meetings, training workshops, editing publications and newspapers, organizing conferences, exhibitions and demonstrations ... all kinds of initiatives which can help with the fulfillment of AFTAB's objectives !
