At the end of May, The French Association of Artistic Woodturners (AFTAB) held their second seminar in Puy St Martin, in the Drome district of southeast France.
I wanted to learn more about artistic turning, in particular multi-centre work, and the array of demonstrators and high number of French specialists in the field attending made it unmissable.

Fortunately, The Arts Council of Great Britain agreed with me and stumped up some cash to help with the costs - providing I told everyone of their generosity whenever I got the chance.

"I learnt that it is the originality of the idea that marks out the truly artistic turner from the rest"
